GYMNASTS WIN GOLD AT CANBERRA CUP
Congratulations to Queensland gymnasts Thomas Pichler (QAS),
Alyce Arrowsmith and Chloe Sims (Moreton Bay College) on their
great performances competing for Australia in the Canberra
Cup (12-13 Dec).

GENERAL
GYMNASTICS - STRATEGIC PLANNING
A special General Gymnastics Planning Sub-Committee has been
formed and will meet in early January to commence preparing
the National 2005 - 2008 Development Plan for this GymSport.
It ishoped that a draft summary of the plan will be available
to the wider community by April 2004. The final plan will
be presented to the Sport Program Technical Assembly in September
2004 for approval.
Any individuals
interested in providing feedback into the directions, priorities
or key needs for the Gymsport of General Gymnastics are invited
to forward this to the Federation's Development Manager, Jenny
Collins at jcollins@gymnastics.org.au.
Remember,
General Gymnastics includes the areas of Kindergym, Cheerleading,
Gym Fun, Gym Skills, AusTeams and the Aussie GymFest. Early
in the New Year members will also be able to provide feedback
via the General Gymnastics Web site....so keep an eye out.
GENERAL
GYMNASTICS - KINDERGYM
All clubs wishing to receiving Kindergym Benefit packs in
2004 are required to ensure that the Kindergym Service Agreement
is completed as part of their 2004 Club Affiliation form.
Clubs are also reminded that their registration numbers for
Kindergym should closely match the number of packs they were
issued this year. If there is a large variance no further
packs will be issued until this area is corrected by either
unused packs being returned or payment for the additional
packs made.

GENERAL
GYMNASTICS - CHEERLEADING
A special International event will be held in July 2004. The
DownUnder Spirit Championships will involve teams from across
Australia and the USA and will be held on the wonderful Gold
Coast. For specific details please contact the Federation's
General Gymnastics Sports Officer, Nerine Cooper at ncooper@gymnastics.org.au.

General Gymnastics Web site early in the New Year
CLUB

Just over 50% of all Affiliated clubs across Australia are
now working within the Club 10 scheme. This means that over
300 clubs have already achieved Star 2 or higher Accreditation
and will be able to access additional benefits and services
during 2004. Those clubs wishing to continue to improve their
operations are encouraged to begin working through the Quality
Improvement program NOW. For further information or assistance

COURSE
PRESENTERS - EDUCATION
Have you ever considered being a Course Presenter? A special
training and accreditation program is in place to assist interested
representatives in becoming Presenters for National Coaching
and/orJudging
Courses. Queensland is currently seeking interested participants
for Course Presenting.

WAG
NATIONAL PROGRAM NOW AVAILABLE
The "new" WAG National Program will be available
for sale as of 25 November
2003 only through the Gymnastics Australia Office.
The National Program will be available on
CD-Rom (Includes Manual, video
footage and music) or in the traditional format of a package
of Printed
Manual, Music CD and Video.
Purchases can be made via the attached order
form which also includes
information on the prices of the resources.
The National Levels Manual and the Sub Junior
Manual will no longer be sold
as all aspects of the Women's National Program are now included
in the one
resource.
