Membership with Gymnastics Queensland can be in any of the following categories with specific admission details and entitlements outlined within the Association's Constitution, under Rule 9:-

a)     Affiliate Club Member (club or school)
b)     Technical Member (Coach or Judge)
c)     Independent Member
d)     Club Member (active athlete)
e)     Honorary Member
f)      Life Member
g)     Patron

Affiliate Club Member
Is a gymnastics club, whether a community organisation, private business, school based operation or managed under another governing body such as YMCAs, PCYC or Government Recreation facility, who is permitted membership with the Association. The club applies for affiliation with the Association by completing GQ's State Affiliation form. All member clubs pay an annual affiliation fee as well as being responsible for registering all their active athletes with the Association. These fees are paid quarterly and are based on a tiered flat fee membership scale. In return for affiliation GQ then provides various services, benefits and resources to member clubs

Technical Member
Is a Coach or Judge of any Gymsport who is duly accredited and registered with the Association and Gymnastics Australia, and in so being is permitted membership to the Association. Again, membership is annual and is achieved through completion of the required membership forms and paying of the relevant membership fee. In addition, all accredited Coaches and Judges must completed annual educational updating to continue their Technical Membership within Gymnastics.

Independent Member
Is an individual who cannot gain membership via the above two categories and therefore registers direct with the Association. The individual applies to GQ by completing a membership form and paying the required annual fees. In return for membership GQ then provides various services and benefits to individual members.

Club Member
Is an individual who actively participates in a recognised Gymsport and/or an individual holding an administrative/volunteer position within an affiliated club and in so being registers with the Association through their affiliate club member. Membership within this category is only available via an affiliate club member. All required registration details are provided by clubs to Gymnastics with individual registration fees being incorporated within a club's flat affiliate fee. All individual athletes registered with gymnastics are provided with a membership pack, which includes personal accident insurance cover.

Honorary Member
Is a person who is elected to any position on the Board of Management or a Gymsport Management Committee (SMC). Through holding an official committee position the individual is automatically registered and recognised as an Honorary Member of GQ.  

Life Member
An individual granted Life Membership of the Association, by the membership. Applications for Life Membership are directed to the Board of Management who are responsible for then presenting recommendations to the membership at the Association's Annual General Meeting. Life Members are provided specific benefits and services by GQ.

Patron
An individual endorsed as the patron of the Association and therefore granted membership. Again, this membership is achieved via the Board of Management presenting a recommendation to the membership at the Association's Annual General Meeting.
